It's cool that you have created so much about these characters! I think just hearing the brief mentions of the father in the story really helps flesh Luka's character out and makes him more realistic. It shows the reader that there are elements and influences even beyond his own story and that the world you have created goes beyond just this story.
It is apparently also going to be adapted into a tv series if that is more your thing.
