    Holy shit!!!!! This chapter was amazing and I personally loved the ending even though I desperately wanted them to be together throughout the whole story!!!!!!! Honestly with this ending, I'm actually okay that they didn't end up together. I fucking loved the last few paragraphs.... and the line: "I love the blacksmith. Not the prince." Literally perfect. It was awesome seeing the story through Gendry's POV as well. Can't wait for the eplilogue and thank you for sharing this awesome Prince Gendry AU!!!! :)

      Thank you so much! It is so nice to see some of my readers who have stuck around since I started this story actually like the way it ends.

      I know a lot of people want them to end up together and so I always knew I would get to read some angry comments at the end, just for not getting them together - especially since a lot of readers were quite disappointed that I made Arya refuse the garland at the tourney and that she then so completely refused to give in to his courtship.

      But yes, this was the original ending I had in mind, for them to break up in Winterfell for good, after she escaped from the capital. And these last few paragraphs, when she snuck into his room, I had written months ago. You know, when I started writing the story, I hadn't thought of still making Gendry a smith in this story, even though he is a prince. But then I thought, why not and as soon as I had written the chapter "The Wolf Hunt", where she accidently stumbled across him in the forge, I knew how I wanted this story to end (dialogue-wise). And so I wrote the whole scene in his chamber in Winterfell right after "The Wolf Hunt", with her telling him exactly that line, "I love the blacksmith. Not the prince." So, it is so cool, so sweet that you now think this line is perfect. I'm not saying it is. But I love that line, too. Because I think that Arya in an Prince Gendry AU actually would be able to separate the two sides of him - the prince (mask) he shows in public, and the real Gendry from the forge - and could only like one of them.

      So, thank you so much for staying around until the end now! <3 It means a lot to me that you say I managed to write an ending you as 'longterm reader' and actively commenting reader like! I would have hated to disappoint readers like you, who followed this story from the beginning. Thank you so much!
