    Really interesting! I really like this mental-illness perspective. Do you have a specific disorder in mind as you write? Or just go off what the canon could be interpreted as? Are you planning on other POV, like Kitamoto or Nishimura? Or just keeping it with the Fujiwaras? I mean, I'm assuming you'll so others from your author's note, but i could be wrong... Sorry for all the questions, but I'm really interested in this story. Thanks so much for writing it and I look forward to the next chapter.

      For the most part, since this is from the perspective of laymen who don't know much about psychosis, i'm just sort of sticking to the umbrella term 'psychosis' because his most prominent 'symptoms' from their perspective are the hallucinations. I did do a fair bit of research into different psychosis before I started, and the closest is probably schizophrenia. But since i'm leaving this open-ended to whether it's canon or AU, i tried to stick close to the general 'symptoms' Natsume exhibits in the show instead of shaping them to be purely schizophrenic (though all his symptoms, with the probable exception of his very early onset, are more than possible under that illness). The steps taken to help him with his 'hallucinations' in the next couple chapters are taken from Cigna on an article specifically about schizophrenic hallucinations, so there's that.
      I am planning on doing other povs. Definitely Kitamoto and Nishimura, but, like i said, i'm pretty limited unless i want to tip my hand, so it'll probably just be those two. which is sad because Natori is my fav and i adore taki. :-( But those boy's are great too, so win-some,lose-some. :-)
