Thanks for replying and yes, feel free to pat yourself on the back for inducing Avenger!feels :)
I know what you mean with trying to play Steve still to the movie with Tony (which I totally agree he was way overreacting to Tony & that was never really explained other than he has "issues" with his attitude...really?) and trying to see how he would react to a tiny Bruce. It's hard to go from yelling in a father's face to being sweet to his kid, but there in lies the issue of what the hell are you doing screaming in front of a kid, let alone his dad?! That seems to be the opposite of keeping a kid calm and not upset...not a good plan, Cap.
I would love to see a moment where after the crying jag Bruce has, Steve somehow clicks that Bruce is a real kid not just a "shell" for the Hulk. Another train of thought that might be fun to explore is do the Avengers really get that SHIELD has all but threatened to lock Bruce up or possibly worse? Natasha seemed to sense some of the danger, and esp. with her childhood you can kind of see some sympathy developing. You put the image of Tony being restrained by agents trying to get to his poor drugged up kid into my head just from the threat, and there go the feels again... Really, excellent story so far!
