    I was so close on Qi Deviating in every chapters and Lan QiRen... oh how I wanted to pull his goatee so hard . Hard enough to pull it off clean.

    I mean come on, I've never seen any fics where that Grumpy Mountain Goat treats WWX fairly.

      There are definitely fics in which he treats him fairly. There is even fanfics in which Lan QiRen adopts Wei WuXian and raises him as his. There is also plenty where they never get along. Based on the canon, you can easily take either path. It's kinda the beauty in his character. Also you have to realize that Lan QiRen never learns about the core, which to me at least, is the most defining point of misunderstanding. It is with a lot of people, they think he is a demonic cultivator because he messed it with darkness and messed up his core, but we know that not it, he gave up his core and took up demonic cultivation to protect those he cares about. If Lan QiRen knew, his view would almost certainly change.

      In my story, I would argue the way he treated Wei WuXian was fair from his point of view. Lan QiRen has no penitence for people who do not want to learn. He didn't know that Wei WuXian didn't talk. Its a huge misunderstanding, doesn't mean he was right to do it, but also he didn't know.
