Oh, yeah, I'm with Lao Chu on this one, just letting the Regent walk out alive is a dangerous move. I get that we don't want An Bai to be a merciless ruler who goes around executing his political enemies but MAYBE THIS ONE TIME?!?!??!?!? I do think it's how the Regent has got away with things for so long, he never does anything QUITE so egregious that the response he DESERVES doesn't seem like an overreaction. He keeps doing the thing in the end to help the winning side just enough for him to be tolerated. And everyone knows it! Argh he's awful.
