    Honestly, my first response to Dis' comments were something like, "Yaaaaargh!", but once I thought about it for a minute, I still didn't like them, but I could certainly understand why she would make them. Protectiveness is a very understandable response, and jumping to conclusions without all the facts isn't exactly new (to the characters in this story OR to me, personally, I'm sorry to say). :) I look forward to the "talking to". :) It'll be interesting to see how enlightens her and how.

      The enlightenment will be in the first scene of 47. I actually just finished writing it. Dís is stubborn, she's a Durin after all. ;)

        We can't expect any less! :) And, really, what would have happened if the Durins *weren't* stubborn? What if Kili hadn't been stubborn about Bori? *Shudder*

          Hmm. If he hadn't been stubborn, I guess it would have fallen back on the original plan of the night in Lake Town, the accepting atop the wall, the Durins dying like in canon... Big difference there would have been the baby's name. Instead of Fílikori it would have been Kílori.

            And if Thorin hadn't been so stubborn, who's to say the dwarves would have ever gone back to Erebor?

              It can lead to good outcomes... Except in canon Thorin and the boys died. So that wasn't a good outcome. Screw that outcome. Stubbornness sucks! LOL

                Absolutely! Hence the "appropriately applied" modifier. Because, yes, I am in full agreement with your assessment about the ending of The Hobbit. The death of Thorin and the boys? So so horrible. Poor choice, Tolkien and Jackson! Fanfiction to the rescue!
