I've told you this already, but I really enjoy many of the little characterisation details in this fic. Alphard and Lucretia knowing how to toe the line as Slytherins (unlike Sirius), and Lucretia (and Walburga) being annoyed at Druella's theatrics. When she basically told Druella to her face that Walburga didn't like her I had to laugh. Arcturus was also very on point and I liked when he was all 'what did you say?' at Orion's surprising outburst. I loved how it was Lucretia getting through to Walburga in the end and the image of the two of them chasing each other on the beach at the seaside Black family estate. And Orion staring at the embers like they were Sirius was a great line. Both parents very upset at their son running away. :(
Alphard and Lucretia are definitely far more careful when it comes to expressing their viewpoints/thoughts around the family. They know how far is too far. unfortunately for sirius, there's no such thing as too far lol.
As for Druella's theatrics, I just sort of love the idea of her being so dramatic lmao, since in Walburgas head Cygnus has found someone just as insufferable as he is lol.
Lucretia definitely does not mince words lol. This is the same woman who told moaning Myrtle to go cry in another bathroom after all lmao.
Arcturus is definitely very fun to write as he just commands all the attention in every room he enters, so his dialogue tends to be very imperious/Superior and I just love that. Even though he's a skinny old man who can barely walk without a cane he's still terrifying just because of all the power he exudes.
Lucretia definitely knows how to make Walburga get her stuff together, Orion probably would too but seeing as how he's kind of not one of Burgies favorite people right now it wouldn't work lol.
