    Thanks so much! I loooove your Black family fics and they were a huge inspiration for this, (the fact that Melania died from dragon fever was taken from An Unwelcome Encounter where Orion dies from the same thing).
    And yep, Arcturus is still very intimidating lmao. It's very fun to write him, because even though he's a thin old man who can barely walk without a cane, he still exudes such a power that he just commands respect in every room he walks into. Also liked tapping into his humanity a bit in this fic, with the reference to him crying over Melanias death. He's an ass, but he cares in his own (extremely dysfunctional) way.
    The scene between Walburga and Lucretia was very fun to write, particularly how Walburga is very Sirius-like in the way she reacts (flopping on the bed, 'I don't care', all the snapping lol). I loved exploring their relationship and including that little scene of them as girls (which was heavily inspired by Penny dreadful) and it was just a great time writing. Definitely very sad, but ends on a bit of a hopeful "we'll get him back energy", and since this is set in BSDU, that's what happens lol.
