Haha, I don't know if I can really call myself a Wangxian specialist when half of the pairing is absent for 80% of the fic, but you're right that I'm probably inclined to read that way? XD To be honest, my writing ideas tend to divide into two firm camps of either 'make Lan Wangji suffer' or 'make Lan Xichen happy and safe'.
