    in case you didn't notice form the manga itself, the ranking does not determine whether the student goes to 1A or 1B. Tetsu was in like... top 5? and is in 1-B.

    also, there are only 35 accepted students cause there are 5 recommended (6 but yoarashi rejected)

          So wait, if the number of points in general don't determine which class you get into, is it based on what the points represent, and how many you got of each? Like if you get more Rescue points over Villain points, or vice versa, it determines your class?

          It makes sense to me, at least, but now i'm curious about the official reasoning.

            It's probably based on quirk? Or who they believe would be more beneficial to each student. I feel the type of points you received allows Nezu and the other staff to get a better grasp of the student. That's just my guess though.
