   i love starting fics where they don't know each other at the beginning bc they go from neutral or hostile or whatever and inside im wriggling and thinking ooOOOOOOHH you two are gonna like each other SO MUCH

      That's def a setup I really enjoy in fic that you can't necessarily find anywhere else! There's a level of implied-soulmates thing but idk I don't really see it as a supernatural force bringing them together as much as they're just two people whose personalities balance each other out and who really enjoy each other's company. Even though their surface-level attributes give them some friction from time to time.
