Oh my god it was all going fine until that last paragraph when I literally made a noise like someone had punched me in the chest which you basically did with that line! I've been reading the snippets you've been posting on tumblr and it was not enough to prepare me for the full chapter, holy shit. I love this so much. I love Michael taking Isobel aside and telling her to Back Off, because yeah, yikes, and I love him knowing that if a woman made him pancakes he would've stashed at least one for later. Sad but funny is the absolute mood here, and I'm loving it a LOT.
