Great work! I really liked this, melancholy but sweet, too. I almost fist pumped at the bit where Beca didn't like Jesse saying she'd be beautiful once she took her 'ear spike' out. As much as I want to like Jesse (and do for the most part), that line in the film, and a few others, rubbed me the wrong way, so nice to see I'm not alone. I also thought the idea of Beca getting her first piercing in the wake of her grandmother's death/for her grandmother and never telling anyone that was really fitting. (Though perhaps she'd tell Chloe that later?) Feeds into her whole badass on the outside, sort of a softie on the inside thing really well and how that relates to the beginning of her fixation with piercings and such. The only point of confusion I'd point out is the "After their loss at semi-finals, she adds to the number of holes in her ears...Everything's over, they won at finals, everything should be good and done." paragraph. It doesn't seem like they've actually won yet at that point? Though I could be misunderstanding something. Overall, a pleasure to read.
