Thanks! I wondered if I should put a starting note to let folks know it was safe to read now, but I try to minimize starting notes to train myself to make sure the fiction stands on its own. (Also because I tend to get carried away with notes.) I went with updating the tags instead. I'm so glad you liked it!
They all know that reincarnation is a thing, but reincarnation, like soul mates or coming back from the dead, were all in the category of accepted truths without any evidence outside of old stories. NHS didn't tell people he was looking. Partly because he didn't want to get their hopes up, but also partly because he wanted them to recover from their grief, and relying on dreams of reincarnation would have undermined that. And he didn't want the additional pressure. And then also because things didn't exactly work out with Mingjue when NHS found his soul before WWX died the second time. (There was always a chance that the reborn WWX would also not be interested, though NHS has spent enough time with WWX and LZ to think that was really unlikely, or have the talent. XB far exceeded NHS's every hope for what a reincarnated WWX would be like.) And because he really wanted to see JC and LZ's reactions if he could unexpectedly introduce WWX's reincarnation to them.
NHS has lots of reasons for doing what he does. Some of them are even good reasons!
