It was really hard to get the balance right for Gwen. She has been hurt and jealous and confused. She doesn't know how to be Queen and Arthur is not helping her so she sticks to the rules. But at heart she is still Gwen and faced with Arthur needing Merlin, her jealousy is not stronger than her love. She still has a journey though.
Merlin has learned a great deal from Arthur, most of all that duty must go before all. Leaving Arthur goes against everything he wants but it is what he has to do.
