Comment on Boundless Future

  1. Look at all these words I need to harvest.

I don't think I've ever received such in depth and kind feedback. I am honestly so touched. Thank so much for the time you put into your comment.

I love writing Hessonite because I think there's more to Homeworld Gems than what we see through the scope of Steven and the Crystal Gems. And the Elite Gems are an interesting group to broach in a work like this. Fairburn Agate is fun because she's in many ways like Hessonite, but her delivery and thought process are completely different. That's why I love the idea of them developing a relationship. Fairbee was star struck when they first met, but given some time and familiarity, she's more apt to let her guard down.

The Proclamation was a bit difficult to realize because there was so much that I felt should have been said, but didn't want to stretch the thing out any further than it needed. White apologizing was important because admitting the problem is the first step towards fixing it. And in a way, I wanted to humanize her. Not absolve her, but make her sympathetic.

Peridot has all the enthusiasm but lacks some relevant data. Good intentions, poor self awareness. Just how I feel most of the time, too.

I'm not sure I've been explicit about this before, but I always intended on making this a relatively laid back story. There's going to be a little tension with some Gems coming up, but that's about the worst of it. Mati and Honey falling in love with both the Earth and each other, discovering freedom, experiencing humanity... fluff and humor and a bunch of fusing too!

I wasn't intending on leaving Boundless Future for so long, but depression never chooses an optimal time to strike. I plan on having some more content up in the near future, I'm just not sure when. I have no intention of abandoning this story. I'm actually quite proud of it.

Once more, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your words are incredibly kind.
