        LOL, thank you for this! To stay in character (given Varrick's reaction to their near-perfect kiss setup after he rescues her in season four), I feel like any major romantic-ish moment at this point has to end with him ruining it.

          Omg, tell me about it. He doesn't exactly have the best track record... (or, well, ..technically future record?) He's so oblivious, he would definitely find a way to botch every moment, every single time. Breaks my heart a bit bc I just want them to be fluffy and cute and for him to realise how much he adores her and needs her (bc he is so in denial and out of touch with his emotions) or for her to confess her feelings (bc he clearly never will lmao) and for them to just Get It Together already but I also really really value and appreciate the slow burn aspect and wouldn't change it for anything. It's true to show and very in-character for these two lovable dummies. <33
