You have me hooked on all these characters more than I’ve ever been and just from mentions. The glimpses at Vriska’s instability and trauma, everything to do with Kankri (he’s such a nervous wreck and trying so hard, will not forget how he left flowers for Dad ahhh), Slick who is the best bastard man, poor poor Tavros dealing with life after a major injury (and poor Rufioh dealing with a suicidal family member). Like holy heck good job on making me care for them so much.
Dave is in such a bad place and he has been majorly unreasonable and aggressive and they aren’t wrong to have put him on high alert but also like. I’ve been in hospital enforced isolation while in bad mental states and it’s so painful and agitating in a way you captured well. He’s scared and hurt and has no idea if the people holding him there mean well or not. Plus by necessity it is run as an authoritarian society and his first introduction was fourteen year old Roxy telling him to play nice and stabilize their unstable leader. Gives a big swing to John’s pragmatic kindness where he will heal you but also force you to learn to stop hurting. When Dave cried what’s wrong with me I wanted to cry too, he’s having a rough time. Slick to the rescue XD
