Yeah, the chapter-per-year thing was a struggle in places. I thought about breaking it up to have shorter chapters, but then that would have been a zillion chapters of wildly varying lengths and chapter titles would have been a nightmare. And the "yes, I'm going on a drop even if it's the Christmas holidays" sort of feeds into the theme of Colin not knowing when to quit. :-)
