Comment on Paternity Redux - Time Just Stopped

  1. I love your take on it! I need the other half now! lol
I love the little hints of Elliot's love for Olivia here and there, like when he's watching her, fascinated by her every move, or how he thinks about her smirk being "the stuff of perfection", but I also understand the conflict he's going through as he doesn't want to have this discussion with Kathy, his reluctance in letting her go even if the baby isn't his (he's been waiting for it as though it was for nine months...). Kathy's line about "the half-assed promise to work on us" really got me thinking; I remember feeling hurt when he said he wanted to come home back in S8, and then it didn't seem to make sense that, when she came to tell him about the baby, he seemed to want to do anything but, but this line gave me a whole new perspective, which really makes sense for him - he NEEDS to do the "right" thing, almost pathologically, lol, and this is what he did, again. It makes total sense that he convinced himself wanting to come home is what he should do, and Kathy probably saw right through it.
I love how you describe it as he realizes or acknowledges that out loud in his mind, "the faces of his children kept him there in a repetitive cycle of repentance", and of course the religious aspect. "The woman that had once been the love of his life"... Loved this! And last but not least, I loved how he says Olivia wasn't always the one, but maybe she should have been...
