Comment on You've Got the Love

  1. PS: Winifred's mother, Gerta, was also likely "queer" by today's standards (though I'll leave the interpretation up to the readers to decide... mostly). Miss Gerta Gutenberg had her daughter due to an unfortunate sexual assault, but Gerta definitely was not attracted to men. (As for why Winifred and her mother don't share the same surname, I'll explain in the actual story.)

Hmm, it seems that my version of Willy Wonka has got some really interesting female ancestors...

    1. I love it! Wonka and Matilda would make great friends, I would think. I can’t wait to read your fic. I just finished watching Ratched with Sarah Paulson, which is set in the late 40s and goes into how the world viewed sapphic women. I highly recommend it if you have Netflix!

      1. I don't have Netflix and I probably won't be able to afford it, but thanks so much for the recommendation! I'll look it up on Wikipedia. :-)

My apologies for not reviewing your newest chapters yet, by the way. I'm busy preparing to ''run away'' from my rather dysfunctional and emotionally abusive family (though technically speaking, I'm in my early twenties so perhaps ''moving away in secret'' would be a more accurate description of what I'm going to do tomorrow). I've been planning this for months now and if all goes well, I will land in Vancouver very soon. So much is at stake, and therefore I haven't been very active on this site recently.

Hopefully, I'll be safe and settled down in Canada very soon, and I shall properly read and review your new chapters then. Also, in January 2021, I intend on publishing that story of mine I mentioned in our earlier conversations. The one about Willy Wonka's mother and the ''Japanese lesbian dentist'' set in the 1940s-1960s.

      2. Is your story going to remain unfinished? It was a really good story and I loved it, but I understand if you're too busy.
