But dawww they're talking and having fun. It's clear that Gordon is understanding Benrey a lot more! And it's so nice to see! Also really love the slow burn here of Gordon not instantly jumping on the love wagon. He wants to fully make sure it's what he wants as well and I think that's super awesome writing!
Also all these references making me feel OLD. Animaniacs, Who framed Roger Rabbit (from last chapter), Digimon, Pokemon, Halo 2, like the nostalgia is hitting me in the face. And I am living for it.
I want to fish over it more but my brain isn't coming up with words. But this is just so good.

I'm glad you like Gordon's stance on their relationship. i was super tempting to go in for the kiss, but I was really pleased by how this version of events played out. because despite everything it has only been a few days canonically and I didn't want to rush things necessarily (even though we're at like 40k words by this point). I'm glad you liked the references sprinkled throughout. I think of the things you listed I only personally interacted with Pokemon and Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Everything else has been conjecture and research. (Because Coomer can absolutely recite the nations of the world song, even if I know relatively little about Animaniacs personally)
