    Read MHA:Smash!! which I treat as secondary canon and will be getting into, along with Manga Chapter 10.5, and it makes it clear how much of a mixed bag her quirk can be and how utterly depressing her life can be...

      Oh trust me, I read that chapter and some others featuring her in MHA: Smash! I loved the chapter were it was shown what she did to traumatize Mineta. And while they are funny, it also gives people a better understanding of her character.

      She wants to be a city hero to show that people with quirks like her's can still make it. Despite the fact that she causes a massive amount of collateral damage with her size, which causes her to constantly be in debt. People tell her that she would be better off as a rural hero, but the city is the perfect way to make it big. Her determination is admirable, even if she likes the attention.

      And while being a hero isn't easy at all, she's proven herself in the manga to take the job seriously. Saving Deku and his classmates from Compress, fighting that yeti villain in MHA: Smash! and enduring a fight against Gigantomachia. She deserves her spot as the 23rd hero.
