Good Morning AO3, (by the way, in the Navy that means Aviation Ordanance Men 3rd rank, so basically your the bomb. LOL)
Anyway, not expecting a quick response but I was wondering if I could offer my services as an editor for people who write stories? And how do I go about doing that. Just noticing as I read some stories that some people could use the help. Not that they can not do it on their own, but sometimes it helps to have another pair of eyes look over what you wrote to make it flow better. Nothing like reading a story and having to stop to figure out what is supposed to be said in a certain spot. English major so this would help me as well.
And as for the Journal call out, what does that require my knowledge level to be in a specific fandom ( Comic Book and Animated Batman)? Or would I need to contact them to ask what help do they need?
We have had users ask for either a private messaging function or an AO3 forum where they could have other kind of interactions. It's even been suggested that the forums could have a section for beta listings so that people could sign up to offer their services, or authors could check it for volunteers.
Unfortunately these possibilities won't be implemented in the near future, so for now the only option is to either leave a comment for the author or to check their profile and see if they offer an email address so that you can contact them directly.
As for being a peer reviewer for Journal, you don't need to have any specific fandom knowledge for it, though if you are in particular fandoms you can include that in your profile as it could be useful to know. But if you'd like more details you can email them at editor (at) transformativeworks (dot) org for more information.
