    Leah being alpha came out of...well, a long chain of thoughts on how exactly I could introduce her as a werewolf at this point in the story. It all clicked when I was scouring Leah's entry and saw a note that she was descended from the Ateara, Black, and Uley lines. Combined with her being the first wolf to shift, I figured that would qualify her for both alpha and 'secret chief' status. The story of how she became the first Quileute wolf to shift is coming up, probably in Chapter 8 when I get to Cass and Leah's non-date. :) Romantic resolutions...those may take a little while longer.
