I cannot🥺😭 I am enchanted by the way you described the slipping in and out of her dance with him, I hadn't read anything that took this approach to that dance but I think about that scene often. About what it meant for her and their relationship , about the joy sprinkled in with heartbreak it must have elicited the very same that would later on become pure heartbreak with barely any joy sprinkled in...😞😞🥺 *sad sigh* I can see Pen writing the column in her head like this very easily and the voice chastising herself feels very in character to me too. Pen is a phenomenal character and I love writing writers, thier internal lives are always the most nuanced and fun :). Also lol i remember the first time I noticed that open collar and i was like WHAT DID THEY CUT WHAT DID THEY EDIT OUT HOW DARE THEY HOW DID THIS HAPPEN and this little drabble was the perfect place to bring it up lol.
