    She never wanted to dance with him again.

    She wanted to dance with him every day for the rest of her life.

    Poor Pen. She's so practical and matter of fact when speaking about Colin and her chances with him, that it makes it even more heartbreaking.

      Pen is a character i can grok - she is kind hearted and angry at her life and maybe even a little bit mean? and she is super smart and brave - seriously, she reads kind of the same as Anthony to me, in many ways. And as a writer, I love writing about the internal life of writers :).
