                                                      It's just dark in the bag. Maybe he can convince nightmare to set the apple by a window and to read out loud or like an audio book.

                                                      Dream being very disturbed if he sees nightmare reading to the apple. And then learning the apple houses the adult corrupted personality. And Nightmare is talking to them. Like it was his friend. (Which in Canon dreamtqle... nightmare did hear a voice talk to him very close to the apple event)

                                                                  Mare behaves only to not get in Bag Timeout. Nightmare is really the only one that can sense and understand him. Mare refuses to even attempt to try and see if dream can sense him.

                                                                  The grumpy apple just kinda simmers from how awful this is. At least night will shine the apple some and try to be the best guardian the kid can be.

The apple isn't too big for him to tuck blankets like dream is. The apple just radiates annoyance and irritation. Especially when night pats the apple and tell it good night.
