godddddd this self-loathing diluc is such a good flavor … the way he pushes kaeya away bc he thinks he doesn’t deserve his affection and fully ignores how much he’s hurting kaeya in the process … he realized that kaeya’s been missing him this whole time, that he hurt kaeya when he ran away the first time, that he’s been hurting him and then still chose to run away again … he managed to accept that no matter who kaeya really is, diluc’s always going to protect him because that’s just who *diluc* is but he can’t extrapolate that the sentiment goes both ways
his character progression is just so fun to witness and i feel like it’s really true to his character … diluc’s that guy who thinks he’s “brutally honest” even tho he lives under layers and layers of denial, but he’s genuine enough that when one of those layers is peeled off for him he easily and directly accepts whatever’s underneath because he kind of knew that’s what was going on the whole time anyway but mr. diluc will Not be peeling any of those layers himself unless he absolutely has to thank u very much. god he’s kind of dumb but i love him anyway.
wonderful chapter, excellent monday afternoon surprise, i will greatly miss fluffy diluc but human diluc’s kind of fluffy too so that makes up for it. thank you so much for writing and sharing !!
