    He's trying, why won't they leave him be

    She is not very appreciative of it yet. Probably won't be for a long while. She's very stubborn and so the part of her brain that acknowledges 'oh hey optimus is really willing to try to support me I can use this' is different than the part of her brain that would recognize that he's, you know, genuinely trying to be supportive. It's easier for her to see it as something she can manipulate rather than really let go on the vendetta she's got against him for not supporting her in the spider incident. Recognizing that he's a good person trying to support her now just can't happen so long as she wants to think both he and Sentinel are completely self centered pricks.
    Which isn't going to stop Optimus because as much as he knows she's just going to push him around for it, he does want to 'go to bat' for her.
    Arcee has seen weirder things in her life, it really does not matter to her what you are so long as you're not pro-Megatron. No Megatron fans allowed in her base. Or Cliffjumper-killers
