Comment on The Clone Wars: Containment

  1. Okay, gotcha. Well, I would recommend the 'Republic' series of Dark Horse comics that feature Quinlan Vos as highly as anything else in the EU. Really excellent storytelling, from his first appearance (immediately after TPM) to the end of his comic run that wraps up with RotS.

And it sounds like we're of a similar age then and I only got into reading EU books and comics a few years earlier than you. I took a deep dive at a certain point and never looked back. I certainly haven't read EVERY novel, comic and short story in the Legends EU, but I'm not too far off. I will say that most of it is objectively not good, but there are a ton of stories I've gone back to again and again (hell yes to all of Timothy Zahn's SW stories and the X-wing series).

The original run of Clone Wars EU material had its share of ups and downs but was overall a humongous win for me. A few of the novels were really, really bad, but others were great (the Mace Windu centered Shatterpoint is up at the very top of favorite SW novels for me [elevator pitch is "Star Wars Apocalypse Now]) and the majority of the comics are about as good as you can ask for.

I'll stop now before filing this page up with mini reviews and recommendations, but just let me know if you'd ever like any. Seems like you're already very much on track for finding good ones, though.
