Comment on Star Wars: Dawn of Darkness - Part One

  1. It's really a good start! I was already hyped with the summary and now I'm afraid for everyone.
I'm glad to see Totten Squad again, I really hope you will not kill them. u_u
The audio recording part is very nice, I always enjoy these kind of things in a story.
And also, an army of wookiee clones would have been terrifying ah ah!

    1. Hey! Glad you're enjoying and thanks, as always, for reading and commenting. I'm on a Tuesday weekly update schedule right now, so there will be a new chapter tomorrow. After that, I've got three more ready to go and I'm currently drafting the final chapter. It's been fun to be back to writing.

Totten have grown on me so much since they first emerged as Maze's pain-in-the-shebs in Containment. They're the Delta of Sgt Carr's company, which has been a fun idea to run with.
I was a little worried about how the audio journal entries would flow, but everyone seems to enjoy them, so I'm glad I decided to steal that from Shatterpoint, haha. Have you read that novel? One of my top picks from the giant catalog of EU books.

      1. Ahhh nice! I will read the new chapter when I have time. I'm glad you are working on this again. :D

I should read Friends in Strange Places again because I can't remember all the squads. But I remember Carr, it's really cool that you bring back characters from your other stories here!

I've never read Shatterpoint but I have read The Cestus Deception, which is in the same series I think? I can't say I liked it though. I plan to read the Legacy of the Force series soon but I'm re-reading the Repcomm books before. So for now, I'm ready to cry with Order 66. Maybe I will have a look at Shatterpoint when I will be done with all of this!

        1. I'm looking forward to bringing more of the Friends in Strange Places world into this story. But that's for Part 2!

Yeah, the Cestus Deception and Shatterpoint were both part of the original run of six "Clone Wars" novels, along with Jedi Trial, the two Medstar books and Yoda: Dark Rendezvous. The stories were all by different authors, though, and didn't have anything to do with each other aside from being set during the Clone Wars. I didn't like Cestus at all either, though it wasn't as bad as Jedi Trial (which is easily one of the worst SW novels I've come across). The Medstar Duology books were really fun, as was Dark Rendezvous. Shatterpoint is easily the best of them, though.

I'm re-reading RepComm right now, too, though very slowly. Getting close to the end of True Colors.

          1. Ah, good news! :D

I haven't read many Star Wars books when I think about it, I still have a lot to discover. Thank you for the recommendations.

            Happy re-reading. ^^
