    Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii sorry it took me so long to reply. I am trash.

    First of all, thank you SO MUCH for allowing me to write basically the dream fic I had in mind when I offered this crazy fandom. I am a Cule but also a research fiend (as you can see from the footnotes, which are kind of a Thing with me) and it was great to find out more about Cris while preparing to write this. Of course, the timing of his movie coming out really helped, because there was this explosion of new media stuff to look through, and that really helped me find his voice.

    I love writing snarky people and my own opinions on finding out the full team line-up definitely bled through to Cris' complaints. I mean, seriously. Who the hell would pick THAT TEAM to play for the fate of the earth? *g* There are literally no actual defenders! How are they even meant to line up? etc etc

    I wasn't sure at first about making the alien threat so serious - like you said, it's a pretty cracktastic commercial. But writing it that way felt like a cheat? And frankly I'm not funny enough to pull that off.

    Re: Cris' family, when I was wondering how I was going to get Cris and Leo to bond, the way they relate to their families was one of the first things that came to mind. When I read Cris' quotes about his son, and those quotes from his mother, it really reminded me of how Leo relates to his kids and his own family situation. So I really wanted to emphasize how important Cris' family was to him.
