    They are all goofs and I am filled with love.

    Consider: Jaskier likely wouldn't keep the dagger, especially after announcing it was for Geralt, BUT. Geralt might buy one for him- delicate but strong, easily hidden and accessed- to keep himself safe with, and maybe would throw in a quiet, gruff little "i couldn't bear to see you hurt" (but blunter and less wordy, because Geralt)!!
