I love this. I love that Apollo is pushing his problems away to fix Klavier's problems and it breaks my heart that after all this time Klavier is still living like he's going to leave again (unless this was just him in the middle of moving house).
"It’s a hard habit to break still, so Apollo knows four. The first belongs to dead boy he misses and then a dead man he doesn’t and the third is Phoenix Wright who is as good as, at this point. The last one, though." Ouch. Very ouch.
"Phoenix Wright has never once treated Apollo like anything but a mildly annoying employee or a nephew from a side of the family he doesn’t care for. He’s the uncle who makes jokes that are a little too mean and a little too real at holidays; the kind who sends five dollar bills to teenagers for their birthday inside unsigned dollar store cards." This is the best description of AA4 Phoenix I have ever read. I can't get it out of my head.
I enjoyed this introspection of Apollo and Klavier very much. Until next time!!!
Thank you! Klavier is basically in stasis and puts zero work into his own comfort or practical matters, so it’s like time stopped for him. All this money and fame, one fork.
The phone number litany! Apollo has a hard life.
I am so delighted you liked the description!! I love all Phoenixes really but the jump from AA4 to AA5 Phoenix without annnnny address (and still doing little mean stuff like not letting Polly go to the aquarium 😤) was just like… a recipe for resentment. 💕
