  1. Excellent chapter. Reading it just made me angry with Sam. I can’t wait to see what you do for Leah. Meyer originally wrote her character to make a point about the bitterness of life for women without the LDS church, and I love stories that fix things for Leah. I can tell her change is coming soon since she’s already exhibiting supernatural strength— very exciting

    1. Thank you!! 🙏🏻☺️

I didn’t know about the purpose behind Leah’s character, but that’s gross 🤢🤮 I’m honestly just kind of over the way Meyer wrote all of her female characters. Literally, all the Cullen women have histories of abuse, and for what? 🙃

Yeah, I’m really excited to write this for Leah! Although I’m not necessarily fixing anything for her. It’s more like giving her a fighting chance, because if she’d known what was going on in canon, she wouldn’t have been so blindsided. In this story, she actually gets a chance to process things without the pack invading her privacy, everyone callously demanding she get over her heartbreak, and being forced to watch Sam and Emily.

Thank you for your support!! 🥰♥️

      1. Yeah… my understanding is the eternal family symbolism is very important in the LDS faith, so angelic vampires that choose “the purer path” compared to corrupt, Italian vampires is a pretty direct allegory for Mormons and the Catholic Church. I’m guessing the others’ history of abuse feeds into that “healing through the church” narrative.
And I’m all about fighting chances. That’s more realistic anyways ;)

        1. That’s strange, considering how little that adds up. Vampirism doesn’t bring any sort of healing. If anything, it intensified their trauma. Not only because of the 3-day hell transformation, but because their trauma literally becomes permanent. The symbolism in these books is wack 😂

Yay I’m glad you think so! 🙌🏻 Leah is a fighter, so she’ll definitely take care of the rest herself 😌

      2. I didn't know that either, blegh. Meyer’s books are a MESS, “religious” allegories or no (which I don’t even get and I’m part of that same religion!). The only good book she’s written is the Host and really, why can’t she have been so sensible here? I'm loving your take on things, that's for sure

I gave the Twilight series a shot just to see what the fuss was about and alternated between being bewildered, wanting to bang my head on the table, and smack certain characters over the head with the book. Ugh. I haven’t even read Midnight Sun and I don’t want to - I don’t need to be in Edward’s headspace thank you very much

        1. I never read the Host but I heard it was good!

Hahah I think for me, I mostly enjoyed her lore and world-building. The story itself leaves a lot to be desired 🥴

I didn’t finish MS myself. I want to, but it’s so wordy 😵💫
