Basically what GammaCavy said. I expect good fanfiction writers - which milesofheart is - to have a handle on what makes up the characters they're playing with. I suspect I don't notice those you reference as'other fanfics here in ao3.. fainting a common scene' because they let me know the characterization is off before I get very far into them. This one, not being focused on Wei Wuxian, it didn't come up before and everything else has seemed right so the sudden break in characterization was jarring.
Quarrels about taste don't go anywhere, so I will not re-engage.
