Huh, I have no idea how I never saw this before but god damn do I love it. I love the interactions between Mei and Zabuza, the involuntary softness and casual/serious flirting. Zabuza isn't some one dimensional psychopath that so many fanfics paint him as and I just love all the world building of Kiri and it's surrounding area. Love the fic so far, and looking forward to more! Thank you for your work so far!
Actually I think even in canon we've seen zabuza have a fondness for haku. it's just that he grew up in mist which is a really tough village - and idk whether he graduated when they had that stupid graduation exam to be the last man standing or not - and obviously had to basically toughen up in order to survive.
but he also had a lot of honor. cuz otherwise he should have just killed gato and taken his money instead of being hired to kill some stupid old bridge builder. lol if I were a missing nin, I'd screw any rules and be a pirate like jack sparrow and loot the rich evil dudes
