Comment on What Dreams May Come

  1. Absolutely exists. If it's a night like tonight and I'm online, I'll reply pretty fast, but I go through droughts sometimes when things get really nuts.

Sans's feelings toward Frisk are really complicated. It's a little spoilery because all this gets addressed later, but read on if you want to know! :D

He absolutely sees Frisk and Katie/Chara as totally different people, but at least until the big story, there is always a lingering fear in the back of his mind over the fact that he's never 100% sure that a) HIS Frisk never did the genocide run, and b) there isn't a reset coming. There's not much he can do about a), but b) is a different matter. He loves that kid more than anyone in the world except Papyrus, and to make sure that b) never happens, he intends to do everything in his not inconsiderable power to make sure that Frisk stays happy and never has a REASON to reset.

Certain events over the years only strengthen this resolve.

    1. Alright~ Sounds perfectly fine to me. I do the same after all :P

OOooooh. (I'm kinda liking all the hints I'm getting ehehe. <3 ) Quite different than other takes. OwO Came back to mind when I was reading a different fanfic. Their relationship was good but it was very VERY fragile... and Sans was still kinda uneasy around Frisk. Certain actions and topics made them really uneasy... But your Sans just loves Frisk too much...
I dunno of a better way to explain this xD
I love this Sans though :3

      1. That's the beauty of this game though. :D Depending on how many times the player resets, and what's happened beforehand, you get entirely different Sanses, but every one is understandable. To put Frisk's favourite metaphor to use, each Sans comes from a different branch of the tree. :D

Sans still has moments. Things Frisk says or does that make him doubt or question. But every single day that goes by where something NEW happens just cements this bond the two of them have. He's got enough distance that he can see the parallels that Frisk can't, and even if he still has doubts, he NEEDS this kid in his life. Frisk and Papyrus form the base that's supporting him through the transition from going through the motions to actually *living* again.

As much as a skeleton can, anyway.
