Yeah, Goh's Suicune showing up wasn't much of a surprise given the theme of this story. On top of helping Goh with the feather, he can kick the Rockets' collective asses without breaking a sweat. Also, I know I complained in the past about you explaining things that should be obvious, but I pretty much appreciated the summary of how Goh captured Suicune, given that I didn't watch that episode. I also felt the need to check if Suicune could learn Tailwind (felt an odd move for it to have) and io and behold, it does, through level up, no less.
Gozu's offscreen defeat of Ash reeked of suspicion, and said suspicions proved to be true, given how as Goh mentioned, Gozu didn't even tried to loot all of Ash's powerful and valuable Pokemon. Though, I still don't get how was Gozu able to get to Goh and Chloe were so much faster than Ash.
And not only do Ash and Goh retrieve the feather and save Chloe, but they were finally able to rescue Prof. Cerise after he was kidnapped all the way in the beginning (I was afraid that the TR might have escape with him, and rescuing him would be the plot of the next book).
What a moment to end the chapter at. Even if the heroes are in such a good position, you still managed to end the chapter on such a suspenseful moment. I'll be eagerly waiting for this book's finale.
Yeah, Suicune has been hinted at since the end of Book 2, so it's appearance here was something I really wanted to build up towards. You can even hear Suicune roaring in the distance in 3-4! I'm glad you appreciated the summary because it also felt like something the show would do, giving a brief flashback and explanation for how Goh and Suicune first met and how they joined up.
Gozu's ability to catch up is definitely a 'read between the lines' sort of thing. In one of the previous chapters, the characters note that flying through the air would be difficult with the strong winds, with Goh noting that you'd need a powerful machine like what Team Rocket has been using to navigate easily. Add in the fact that Ash didn't have a map or the feather to help direct him and he was taking the slow, difficult route because it was either that or get lost in the forest.
The next book has it's own story. I try to write each of them with their own self-contained narratives even as they all link together and follow the same mystery and legend from before, to help it feel like a series of adventures. Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy the end of Book 3!
