Very nicely done. POVs from Maki have always been a favorite for me, especially post-canon. It's okay to have feelings, girl!! Self-care!! Shuichi, too, if those eyebags are any indication. Actually, scratch that, all three need help. The Surviving Trio deserves better, goddamn it.
Wonder what that Future Foundation bit at the end is gonna entail? But Hajime outright admitting that it could've been sooner really was a stab in the gut, I wanted Kaito to live so goddamn badly, as annoying as he got at times...
Just a question, though: when exactly does this fic diverge from canon in the Hope's Peak timeline? Ryota being there confuses me, but I'm gonna say before the Future Arc anime, no? It's been a while, so I don't remember all the details, lol.
That all aside, I'm gonna being paying attention to this one til the end, and I'll be proud to say I was there since the beginning! Cheers to the promising future chapters of this fic!
I'll probably mention in the next author's note before I forget, but the Future Arc is not canon here. Part of the divergence technically is tying V3 to the "main" timeline of killing games, but where the real divergence occurs comes to light a little further down the line- saying more than that will spoil some of it :) I'm so happy you're enjoying it so far, I hope you like what there is to come!
Honestly, thank the gods this diverges from Future Arc, it had quite a few problems along with submitting to the bury your gays trope and killing one of my favorite characters in the process. Though I am admittedly curious about Ryota…
