Comment on Identities of a lost soul

  1. You always nail the 'feel' of a character's PoV and Jolee's is no exception.

“You- I-” Revan stopped, scowling. “Zhar was an old, true friend of yours, and when I say I’m part to blame for his death your only response is to do better next time? Are you for real, Jolee Bindo?”
“Oh, you want a lecture? Then how about this,” I snapped. “Self-flagellation is very Jedi, but it’s also very destructive. If you truly want to make a difference, then pick yourself up and make one.”
Despite Jolee's distaste for the Jedi he is very good at being one. Unconditional compassion is one of the most important Jedi tennants and not only does Jolee manage to summon it for Revan he also encourages her to have compassion for herself, and focus on doing the right thing to fix her wrongs. The Order generally tries to follow their own teachings but only occasionally succeed. Yet again we see an exile out Jedi-ing the Jedi.

The girl was standing awkwardly in the centre of the rom, having left the door wide open. I harrumphed. City-dwellers became so accustomed to electronic closures that it completely addled any basic courtesy or common sense they might otherwise have had. I stomped over to close the door myself, before gesturing toward the small stool by the table.
This is such an amazing little detail. It makes so much sense that city-dwellers in a galaxy with automatic doors everywhere would just forget or not learn the courtesy of shutting doors when you are the last one.

"Don’t you see? All of the crew have holds on you. And I reckon any one of us coulda pulled you back.”
Stop, you're going to make me cry!

I really like the flashback. We know so little about those crucial months between Malachor V and the Star Forge that getting even an outsider's glipse of Revan's thoughts and motivations is really cool.

Revan turned a faint smile on me, and it was both sad and terrible. “No you couldn’t,” she whispered, and walked out the door.
    Such a great line.

    1. Jolee enters the fray late, but he's one of my fav characters.
Oh who am I kidding. All the K1 main crew are.

Jolee is a fantastic character because he really is a great embodiment of what a seasoned Jedi should be, but he does still have his own faults.
