Comment on You Treat Me Like a Stranger

  1. Also, I read that fic as well~ Well I think if it's written in a different manner maybe people won't notice?

    1. yeah, I'm gonna go about it somewhat differently, I think. for one, it's in Mary's pov instead of Cas', so the audience is left somewhat scratching their heads about a lot whereas in the other fic, Cas explained his reasoning (to himself) and justified his actions. I've already started working on the next chapter for this and it's already looking different, so I'm not too worried anymore I don't think—perhaps stupidly ://

      1. Well my impression from what I've seen so far in the series itself is that Mary is pretty much going off of what she sees, because hell if the brothers actually explain ANYTHING to her that isn't a cursory comment prompted by her actually asking.

Having a fic where she's figuring shit out or making assumptions about the nature of Castiel's involvement and investment in her sons and their friends, I think, could be intruiging if something as 'controversial' in a society/ species (Angels) that are clearly made to defend/guard/fight/be perfect as a potentially crippling injury (damaged wings), we're to be addressed from an outsider view (Mary's?)... I think that could be good. Man that was a ramble. I lost my way several times during this paragraph. I hope it makes sense.

Based on what I've read of your stuff, I think you'll do fine.

        1. I think I get what you're saying. it's sorta like when Dean first heard of angels existing (after overcoming his initial disbelief) and he pictured them to be nicer and more like Michael Landon from "Highway to Heaven." Mary probably would've gotten a much smaller dosage as far as angels represented in media, but I think the whole wing thing definitely threw her for a loop (made worse by the fact that she probably didn't think they had actual wings or anything)

right now, I'm having a tough time figuring out how to create a confrontation that has Cas forced to tell Sam and Dean about it, because there's no way he'd do so on his own free will. I think it's gonna have to be a monster (demon or angel, probably, due to the nature of the problem) say like 'wth happened to your wings there uhm' :/

idk I think the second chapter will just be disappointing but I'm trying ,_,
