Understandable, some stories make the OOC so off the wall out of nowhere it feels awkward, but it also feels like the sparring matches where she wants to talk to him is lacking a motive. Ida is fueled by his misaligned justice, but Ochako has a very bland motive, sure what she said about being quirkless is impactful but for a character as important as her for this story it feels very lacking. I remember rereading this a few days ago and saying "Where's the fight where she tries to break his arm" because it was such a strong point in the story that really established him moving away from 1-A and his new feelings towards Kendo. The story just needs that whole "Screw you guys" moment to better establish that disconnect between them all.
