Hello you beautiful fanfic writer. It is an absolute delight to see you posted and holey shit was I excited. Please be forwarned that there is a possibility of king ass comments from me again. Lol.
Firstly I'm loving the introduction. And most pacifcally it's hopper pov we see of Steve eating metal. His reaction feels slightly not all theore as if you can physically feel him recoiling at what's happened to Joyce by the demo bastards but Steve killing self with hoppers own gun. The shock and suddenness of It as well. The pain he felt amd they slight images of everyone else he lost. Also the tidbit of el desperately trying to bring him back hurt so much like she could rewind his bullet wound and hopper cleaning Steve faces just adds to the pain yoi can feel from them. Not to mention Robin taking one look at Steve and just crumberling. Bot to mention the fact they didn't know about thebloops in these vision memory hits so as far as hopper is aware Steve just committed suicide permantly and was his own monster that killed him bot the upside down or russain, but he, himself. Hopper guilt at not spotting the 'signs' and trying to help or get him help before he did this.
They way the others have the same dreams if their included at same time is great. Just hopper hearing them speak and needing yo knlw if what he dreamed was real or a horrid nightmare only to learn its a memory from the loops and same with kids.
Steve's little gotta make everyone feel better and that I'm all good because he doesn't realise yet what's happened or what else to do.
I love the knowledge that while Steve's loop was instant as far as he was aware, where as everyone else lived out the rest of the day or so and had to deal with the aftermath. Its great to see how they reacted as well because it adds to the pain the loops bot oy caused to steve but the lo e they had/have for hik and the pain of losing him as they remember and we catch climpses of their pain if what had happened had stayed permanent.
If any of them have repeated climpses of Steve suicide by pool how they reacted to how often it was. Hell the possibility that any of them would feel comfortable with Steve being anyway near his pool supervised or not would be strong.
I also imagine some of Steve's deaths where mt quick or painless but long, drown out and agonising. So seeing them would be horrific. It'd deffo be interesting if Eddie sees all of his deaths not only because he and max whete the people Steve was so desperate to save but so considering Eddie generally died before Steve or wasn't always there to see it.
I still can't help but wounder if Steve killing himself in the pool the 1st tike around and what caused the loops has anything to do or call back to barb being pulled in and killed their, if at all their is any connection or not especially with the gunk that filled his mouth. Hell is the upside down world aware that vecna didn't belong and needed him gone so it could be the planet it was before vecna interfered.
Anyway, it's sad seeing how many pages Steve had to fill probably back to back with gis deaths so they could just cross them off one by one do they new when they where dome or if they ew more was to come. But the idea of Eddie hearing all these deaths (and max) since it was who he was trying to save via these loops probably hits harder. So much pain gone thro all to save them. Not to mention, reading them and reading everything Steve had suffered and each death knowing you'll probably see it as well at somepoint. Just angst all around.
I cant wait for what else you have inshore for this. I can imagine for both you writing this amd the characters them selves is gonna be interesting between Steve healing from the upside down, russain, before the upside down and the loops and finally having a shot at happiness and peace, all while the others are getting first row sets to a horror show starring Steve and his 101 ways to die. Like Steve will probably try to co.fort them all as a reminder he's still alive but also trying to move past it at same time.
el trying to bring him back!!! as soon as i thought of it i felt SO fucking smart lmao, plus, it just felt so in character for her during that timeline, y'know? cause it's during The Longest Loop, where she's cried with steve over max in the hospital, and there's a friendship there, between them. and, after learning that you CAN bring people back from the dead, imagine the guilt at seeing any of your friends die. like? jesus, someone give this girl a fucking hug
the loop not being instant was also a big 'aha!' moment for me haha!! i've loved fleshing out the mechanics of this time loop more during this fic (and really, it just lets me write more angst;))
i contemplated making an actual list, but then realised that there was just... so many times that he's died (that he's remember, nudge nudge hint hint). the idea of steve being able to detail each and every one? horrible. hate it.
there's very much going to be an overarching theme where the gang realise things about steve, after remembering his deaths, and it will lead to comfort, and a lot of tears, and i MAY have already written the last chapter before the epilogue and sobbed like a baby, but we will not be mentioning that part ;)
Hell yes, I love reading fics where you can feel thebpassion and excitement from the creator as they wrote. I think its why I was so badily hooked on yoir story and physically couldn't write a small comment on any chapter, like it was impossible and believe me I tried to do so a few times considering that you probably had loads of comments to read thro and I couldn't, then ya said you liked then and I was like I cant not leave long ass comment when you like them, lol.
Yes I have to admit that the loop doesn't reset for everyone else straight away even if their not the ones looping so to speak because yes it deffo adds to angst and the chance to look back about a character thro hindsight and pick up so much more about them. Especially considering the saying you don't know what you've lost till its gone a d in this case it started with Steve's loss over Eddie and max, his fear of losing anyone else where as this while Steve centric just from everyone else's pov which is great and it's their little tike of don't know what you lost till its gone thing inregarfs to steve since they feel and love their reactions to each death and how he died, their reactions and what they lost and moss when he's gone tyat they may have not picked up on before.
I do hope we have some Eddie povs maybe even max since the loops started because of Steve's desperation to save them and Eddie in regards to him loving Steve amd having to deal with the loop snippets and loop aftermath and helping Steve heal from them as well as learning about the whole upside down saga and russains with gis trauma, he'll even a deep dive of Steve's childhood trauma and how it's affected him as a person and still affects him within his actions towards others, himself and thoughts and feelings towards others and himself.
I dont think it really matters which chapters you wrote first to be honest Especially considering that some chapter you could already have mapped, or the big ticket chapters set up and done be abuse you can always work with the in-between chapters. Hell sometimes knowing what you want for chapter 5 and 8 for example but not sure how to get there is sometimes figured out after writing said 5 and 8 chapter. So longs as it makes sense amd ya not stressing out over them its all good it also can help with writers block either because your working on a part tyats not the immediate chapter so less stress or if you've already done a chapter a little in future section then it can be a good base to get creative juices flowing again. So you do you lol.
Also the list of deaths, I'd imagine a lot of them somewhat blurr togther so I wouldn't be surprised if he did forget some or even forgot because of how traumatic it was. But also it opens up ideas for deaths and doesn't lock you down to what could have been listed. Or if you did want to have a few where they look and some stand out, we'll you could just mention the few on lists that stuck harder to people (if they havent seen them yet, sometimes just reading a death that happened could stick for example if hipper had read about Steve using hoppers gun to eat metal then I'd imaginenhed have reacted badly too, even if the seeing it added to the horror of the first coming up)
I hope at somepoint the loop visual marks start to face maybe as a sign he's healing. Hell I think it wasnmentioned that Steve had wounds from before the loops appear and the imagenof the scars or wounds disseapearimg from his skin as he heals from the trauma would be a beautiful lile thebloop not only put him thro hell but also set him up for truly healing lol.

reading all of your long comments has been (and still is!!) super fun!! reading and responding to any and all of the comments has been so nice, but it's always nice to see a familiar face (user??)
and, don't worry, we get a couple chapters from eddie's pov (and im planning on having the whole epilogue to be from his pov as well!) it's been interesting trying to write some of his chapters, especially when he's experiencing one of steve's deaths, 'cause he doesn't really know him yet, y'know? writing the other fic from steve's pov opened up so many avenues for feelings and the relationship that steve and eddie hold for each other, so it's weird going from that to writing eddie who barely knows steve (at that point)!
right now, i've planned one max pov, but i might have to explore her more, after your comment haha! as for steve's trauma n shit, you'll be seeing a very common theme in this fic about steve's parents ;)
im honestly loving writing them all out of order!! i've actually being going through and doing most of steve's deaths first, and then going back and completing chapters (cause when im in a mood to write angst im in a MOOD to write angst)
