      She's not so much afraid as protective, but she can't filter the difference emotionally.

      I'm not touching the Cato comment. I just wanted to paint Peeta as someone who's freakishly strong (and slightly ambivalent about snapping someone's clavicle when they deserve it.LOL!) I don't want a goody-too-shoes protagonist. I want a flawed human being like the rest of us.
