    This is AMAZING - not just the entire premise of them being secretly best friends, but also their secret ways of communicating and the assignment as well (it's such an important part of heroics, I'm surprised few people actually raise this up). I also love that you're exploring how difficult it could be transitioning from a secret and silent friendship to one that's more overt, especially when it was born out of protection and necessity. Brilliant.
