I think by mortal they meant the powers that can hurt people. Aphrodite explains she can still feel the love around her and her passive powers are working. I’d assume powers like Thalia not aging is passive like that. But really idk
By now I've read all the way to The Lost Hero so it seems we're going with frozen in time bc otherwise Percy would be 16 by now anyways, and Thalia would've been 16 after a day (I believe they've been reading for about 12 days now if I've been counting right.
