I honestly no idea what would be the right word. But Eöllion makes sense, because Eölion looks wrong. And the quenya ending -yello doesn't make it better. Unfortunately Eöl doesn't have another name. What could be 'Nan Elmoth' -> 'Elmo'? I know it's supposed to be nan + el + mo, but I take it as sign for the hinted kinship between Eöl and Thingol.
That's exactly what I went through when figuring out the name! So I am glad that I am not the only one stumped. ;) (Of course, I went and wiki'd it, and the metal is called Galvorn anyway - thus rendering the whole head-scratcher meaningless. I completely forgot that! *face palm*)
And I am liking this Eöl and Thingol kinship the more and more I am thinking about it. It makes so much sense.
Thank-you for your comments, again! You definitely have me thinking. :)
